Seaweed - a superfood under the Cornish sea

Our passionate ‘seaweeders’ are based on West Cornwall’s  beautiful wild coast.

The moon, the tides and the swell determines their day.  The ocean decides if they can harvest or not.

Seaweed, like bone broth, has been used all over the world for centuries, both as a food and a beauty treatment.  It claims the ability to energise and detox the human body.

Cornwall has over 1500 species of seaweed. Only the most abundant species are sustainably harvested under a licence approved from Natural England.

Seaweed is an established super food with a high concentration of minerals and vitamins, in fact, more than any other single food group.

It is packed with iodine, iron, magnesium, zinc , calcium and vitamins especially vitamin K and folic acid. Ingeniously, it is also low in calories and fat!

We use Soil Association organic accredited Kelp or Kombu seaweed in our Osius Beef Bone Broth with Seaweed.  Kelp or Kombu is a deeply detoxifying nutrient dense sea vegetable. Apart from the obvious health benefits of seaweed, it adds a delicious umami flavour to our broth.
