How to boost your immune system

During lockdown, when we were exposed to less people, our chances of catching infections like colds and flu were reduced.

However now we are back to a more “normal” life, and the colder months are drawing in, these are beginning to affect our lives again.

Boosting your immune system is therefore very important to fight off these infections, and one of the ways to do this is with bone broth!

The nutrients within Osius, such as amino acids, protein and collagen, aids the immune system in recognising and dealing with germs.

The old adage is that you should have chicken soup when you’re feeling unwell, and you can make this with chicken bone broth at home. We have a delicious chicken noodle soup recipe that can help fight off inflammation in the body.

Fruit and vegetables are also known to boost immunity, thanks to key ingredients such as vitamins A, C and D, zinc, iron and magnesium, to name a few. We champion using organic vegetables in our broths that support local farms close to Osius HQ.

Our organic vegetable broth can be used as a comforting drink when you are feeling under the weather - and it’s vegan friendly too! You can add flavourings like lemon juice, ginger, coriander or chilli for an extra boost.

Not only can you enjoy this goodness as a hot drink, but you can cook your favourite vegetables in any of our tasty broths, which doubles up on the goodness for a hearty and healthy home-cooked dinner.

Some other suggestions for boosting your immunity include:

  • Immune support vitamins and juices - these can be found at your local health store.
  • Drink green or matcha tea - you could try our soothing matcha and bone broth.
  • Use an acupressure mat, which helps drain the body of toxins.
  • Snack on nuts, seeds and dried fruit - your local zero waste shop will stock these without unnecessary plastic!
