Getting ready for Veganuary

It’s time to make those New Year’s resolutions, and we know a lot of you will be taking part in Veganuary. You don’t have to miss out on the goodness in Osius though, as we have our very own vegetable broth!

Osius’ veggie broth has been approved by the Vegan Society, so it’s perfect for a plant-based diet. The collaborators from our seasonal warmers series made some delicious recipes using it, including sweet potato and lentil soup, crispy tofu and baby courgette broth and spiced butternut squash soup. 

Vegetable broth is also a great drink - you can heat it gently over the hob, then pour into your favourite mug, and add your preferred flavourings, from lemon to chilli. Alternatively, broth can be whizzed into your usual morning smoothie. 

Some of us may be choosing to adopt a flexitarian diet, or semi-vegetarianism, which focuses mostly on plant-based eating, with the occasional inclusion of meat. If you’re going down this route, why not try one of our multipacks where you can mix and match across our entire bone broth range?

Choosing to go meat-free this January - or just having a few days plant-based - can have a variety of health benefits. Research has suggested that vegan diets can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol, lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some types of cancer.

Vegan diets also have a positive environmental impact, as it can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 73%, so Veganuary is a great pledge if you want to focus on sustainability in the new year as well.
